THE summer holidays are shaping up to be a busy time at Sovereign Hill with thirty-five days of magic running until the end of January.<\/p>\n
The outdoor museum is expecting more than 50,000 visitors during the holiday period.<\/p>\n
The Wizard Jacobs Magic Show is back at the Victoria Theatre for the first time in 10 years and is inspired by the true story of Joseph Jacobs, a magician who toured the goldfields in the 1850s.<\/p>\n
More than 40 staff members, including technicians, performers, costume makers, historians, event producers, coachbuilders, and designers, have been preparing for the show to take to the stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cSummer is a fantastic time to reconnect with family and friends and experience the magic of Sovereign Hill,\u201d said Sovereign Hill Museums Association CEO Sara Quon.<\/p>\n
\u201cThirty-five Days of Magic is an opportunity to experience a classic magic show that has been 170 years in the making.\u201d<\/p>\n
The wonder doesn\u2019t stop at the stage performances, with magic themed craft sessions and roving performers on site.<\/p>\n
Picnic hampers by Peter Rowland to enjoy by the lake are also available for pre-order and will contain savory and sweet treats as well as drinks.<\/p>\n
As part of Sovereign Hill\u2019s summer holiday offerings the AURA sound and light show will also be on from 9.15pm as well as the outdoor museum\u2019s year-round drawcards including gold panning, mine tours and coach rides.<\/p>\n
