{"id":98879,"date":"2023-12-15T04:56:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-14T17:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/?p=98879"},"modified":"2023-12-14T22:38:20","modified_gmt":"2023-12-14T11:38:20","slug":"sewer-system-expands-into-planned-growth-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballarat\/news\/sewer-system-expands-into-planned-growth-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Sewer system expands into planned growth area"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">CENTRAL Highlands Water staff are\u00a0seeking to plan ahead\u00a0for the\u00a0city\u2019s proposed expansion into the Ballarat North Growth Zone.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Known as the Ballarat North Trunk Sewer Project, the water utility is working to install $3 million worth of wastewater infrastructure in the BNGZ\u00a0precinct.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">This project is set to see a one-kilometre gravity sewer pipeline constructed which will carry wastewater for\u00a0a predicted 15,000 people within 6000 homes.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The pipeline is also expected to cater to the new Mount Rowan Ballarat Showgrounds site, and a nearby proposed Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action office and regional depot facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to continuing to invest in the future of our region,\u201d said CHW managing director Jeff Haydon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe one-kilometre pipeline for the Ballarat North Trunk Sewer Project will contribute to the wastewater needs for the planned growth zones in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paddocks and farmland in Ballarat\u2019s north has been highlighted by City of Ballarat officers as an ideal location for residential growth into the future.<\/p>\n<p>The City\u2019s director development and growth Natalie Robertson said the Victorian Planning Authority is progressing with a precinct structure plan for the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PSP is currently in the early stages of development which will ultimately provide high level direction for the planning of the new community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll land uses, including details such as schools, medical facilities and retail will be determined by technical reports and set out in the final PSP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is expected that the PSP will be incorporated into the Ballarat Planning Scheme by 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CENTRAL Highlands Water staff are\u00a0seeking to plan ahead\u00a0for the\u00a0city\u2019s proposed expansion into the Ballarat North Growth Zone.
