OCTOBER\u2019S annual Pink Up Linton campaign has raised a record amount of money for the McGrath Foundation.<\/p>\n
Cristine Gall and her staff at the Linton Takeaway raised $2645.55 throughout the month.<\/p>\n
A dollar from each hot beverage sold was donated to the charity, as were the proceeds from a raffle, referendum voting day sausage sizzle, and a pink morning tea.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019d like to thank everyone who supported Pink Up Linton this year, those who donated money and prizes,\u201d Ms Gall said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery year we\u2019ve broken the fundraising record. We\u2019re looking forward to next year and going further.\u201d<\/p>\n
The foundation funds more than 200 breast care nurses in cancer centres across the country, who provide specialist health and wellbeing support to both patients and their families.<\/p>\n
It is the charity\u2019s goal to fund 250 nurses by 2025.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the McGrath Foundation, we would like to thank the Linton community for their incredible fundraising efforts during the recent Pink Up Linton fundraising campaign,\u201d a letter from ambassador and director, Tracy Bevan said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPink Up Your Town is an opportunity for communities to turn pink in solidarity with people experiencing breast cancer, whilst also supporting the McGrath Foundation in our goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo date, our 204 McGrath breast care nurses have helped support over 127,000 families in Australia experiencing breast cancer.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is thanks to the commitment of amazing communities like Linton, who \u2018pinked up’ for the third year this year, that we’re able to continue funding McGrath breast care nurses to support families experiencing breast cancer across Australia, for free, taking us even closer to our mission of ensuring everyone experiencing breast cancer has access to a breast care nurse.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
