MALAYSIAN-Indonesian eatery Flying Chillies it set to offer on-site cooking classes commencing in February.<\/p>\n
While owner Lilly Wright offered classes last year at Barkley Square, this will be the first time they are held in the cafe\u2019s new location.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s just amazing to have the cafe at the moment, particularly to run the cooking classes,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe idea is it\u2019s going to be more comfortable and more engaging as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wright will be running Malaysian and Indonesian cooking classes where participants will learn how to make authentic local dishes.<\/p>\n
Each class will go for three hours and participants will be able to get to know each other with a communal dining experience to finish the session.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not only about cooking, it\u2019s about recipe sharing, making authentic food, balancing the flavours and balancing your palate,\u201d said Wright.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndonesian and Malaysian cooking is all about how to master your flavours.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyone is invited to take part in a class with no special knowledge or skills required.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s suitable for beginner students and they will learn all about the ingredients and how to cook authentic food,\u201d said Wright.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe idea is to introduce people into different ethnicities in Malaysia and Indonesia because for example, in Malaysia we have 13 states, and each state has their own traditional food.\u201d<\/p>\n
