THE annual Carngham Linton Football Netball Club swap meet will be on at Snake Valley Recreation Reserve next month.<\/p>\n
Held on Sunday 11 February, gates are set to open to the public from 8am with a range of stalls on site as well as a show n shine.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been doing this since 2017 and we originally had about 50 sites and since then it\u2019s grown with nearly 160 sites last year,\u201d said the club\u2019s revenue director Cameron Haines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s lots of different items with cars, caravans, and other things.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also have a show n shine where people bring their amazingly detailed vehicles that creates a lot of interest.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Haines encouraged anyone who is interested to get in early and book a site.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome people like to have a car and a trailer which is one site but other people have tables and display items so they may need two or three sites,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe try and get as many booked in before the actual swap meet if we can and then they\u2019re guaranteed a site.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year we had a lot of people miss out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Haines said the event is great for the Snake Valley community as it brings a lot of visitors to the town.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt exposes a sleepy little town like Snake Valley as we\u2019ve had people come from Gippsland, Melbourne, Horsham, Shepperton and there\u2019s one guy who rang the other day who\u2019s coming from South Australia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt helps the local pub and that sort of stuff because I know a lot of people have a feed there at some stage.\u201d<\/p>\n
