A DONATION of more than eleven thousand dollars has been presented to the Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre\u2019s Wellness Centre by members of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast.<\/p>\n
The presentation was made last Wednesday to the wellness centre which relies 100 per cent on community funding to provide free support and education to cancer patients.<\/p>\n
The money for the donation was raised by the club\u2019s Christmas hamper fundraiser which contained locally sourced speciality goods.<\/p>\n
Club president Geoff James said it was great to be able to support a worthy cause.<\/p>\n
\u201cSourcing the products, packaging, promoting, selling and distributing the hampers is a significant project for our club members,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is wonderful to be able to support a cause so close to the community\u2019s heart with the proceeds.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast thanks all the supplier businesses involved and those who purchased over 600 hampers.\u201d<\/p>\n
BRICC Wellness Centre co-ordinator Simone Noelker thanked the community for their support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are so grateful to the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast for giving us this donation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt helps us make it possible for our Cancer Wellness Centre to assist and support individuals and their families throughout their cancer experience by offering a range of supportive therapies, education and group support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe offer around 20 different programs, delivered by qualified therapists, free of charge and available to all cancer patients within the Ballarat and Grampians region regardless of place of treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
