BALLARAT Municipal Observatory and Museum is ready to come live this Valentines Day with an adult only evening under the stars.<\/p>\n
The event will feature wine, food, an astronomical talk, and star gazing.<\/p>\n
Education officer Kirralee McLoughlin said there will be plenty on offer for couples to learn about the night sky.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe evening is going to consist of supper, nibbles and wine with people\u2019s partners in our caf\u00e9 and at the same time there will be talk about the pale blue dot image,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ll also be in a bit about binary stars who are the couples of the universe and also about Pluto\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the sky is clear we will be doing telescope viewing outside after or if not there will be a virtual night sky tour.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms McLoughlin said she hopes the event is a chance for people to share their love of astronomy with their partner.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m hoping that if one person is really interested, they will be able to show their partner their love of astronomy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always really nice to see another person\u2019s special interest.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the case of bad weather, a raincheck is available for the viewing section of the event.<\/p>\n
