THE Murwillumbah Theatre Company’s (MTC) latest production, Plonk!, comes to the Civic Centre for a two-week season beginning March 7.
The comedy murder mystery written by Colin Barrow and directed by Bryanne Jardine promises a night of fun and clue-seeking in the traditional whodunnit.
In the sitting room of the farmhouse at Worth Farm and Vineyard, the elderly owner, Heather Watson, hatches a plan to have a little fun in her final years of life.
Promising various people that they will be her sole beneficiary to the entire farm and vineyard in return for a reduction in their current wages, Heather plays her dangerous game.
When everyone is invited to a gathering, Heather is murdered by one of them in her bedroom. Detective Harman seeks to unravel the clues and identify the murderer.
The non-profit, volunteer community theatre group has presented productions for over 30 years and stages three to four productions each year.
Built on local skills, members have a wide variety of skills, and training opportunities exist for people interested in theatre. The company always requires volunteers skilled in directing, costumes, stage management, set design, construction, sound, lighting, front of house and publicity. Theatre lovers can get involved by visiting the MTC website.
