AUSTRALIAN singer-songwriter Tom Busby will launch a solo tour in November, previewing tracks from his upcoming album Rockhampton Hangover.

The album is set for release early next year. Early singles such as Waiting for Tomorrow have already reached more than 30,000 streams, while the latest track Lottery is becoming a favourite in his live set.

Busby said the song was about finding joy in the little wins.

“For some people, that’s hitting the jackpot. For me, it’s moments with my family, music, freedom and feeling alive,” he said. “It is easily the most thumping track on the album, loud, loose and built for the stage. And who doesn’t love a whistle hook? This one’s a belter.”

The Lottery Tour follows a string of sold-out shows and will take his new songs to venues across the country.

Busby said he enjoyed being on the road with his young band.

“They are red hot and bring so much energy,” he said. “Playing these intimate rooms feels special. The connection is real and the storytelling is off the hook.”

Busby was one half of the folk duo Busby Marou, which played sold-out venues and released certified gold and platinum records, including an ARIA No.1 album.

He will perform at Murwillumbah’s The Citadel on Sunday, November 20.
