Byron in top 10 regions in annual Uber rankings
UBER released its annual rider ratings rankings last week, revealing the states, cities and regions that earned their spot on one or the other of Santa’s lists for 2024.
Byron Bay, with a rider ranking of 4.87 stars out of five, came in at number eight on the regional list, sitting above the respectable national average of 4.82 stars.
In comparison, the Gold Coast shares the same ranking and sits at number four on the metro list.
Uber rider ratings have unexpectedly become a pop cultural litmus test for human decency, with people frequently citing their rating in small talk or on social media or dating profiles.
The ride sharer encourages riders to check their Uber Rider Rating and consider improving it where possible.
The company said drivers always appreciated good passenger etiquette, and driver partner feedback shared tips on what made a good passenger.
Punctuality, location accuracy, and cleanliness ranked highly. Not all riders or drivers want to chat, but a friendly hello was highly regarded.
Slamming doors is frequently cited as the reason for drivers deducting stars on rider profiles.
Uber encourages feedback from both sides with its two-way rating system and is asking riders and drivers to remember to rate their rides and contribute to an improved experience this holiday season.
