COMEDIANS Lindsay Webb and Mandy Nolan will entertain guests at an International Men’s Day luncheon at Ballina RSL on Tuesday, November 19.

Nolan will also moderate a panel discussion on men’s health issues at the event, organised by Ballina Chamber of Commerce.

Vicki Worland from the Gotcha4Life Foundation — the wife of TV personality Gus Worland — will deliver the keynote speech, as well as being on the panel.

The panel will also include Michael Were from Lifeline Northern NSW, fitness trainer Lee Nagorcka from Boundless and mental health advocate Chris Woods, from Chris Treks for a Cause.

Ballina Chamber of Commerce president and Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary general manager Amanda Gorvin and the Chamber’s vice-president Matthew Prentice will co-host the event.

“This lunch will allow our Northern Rivers community to talk deeper but also with good humour about the pressures of life which drive stress, anxiety and potentially lead to sickness,” Prentice said.

“It’s about understanding what mental health actually is and how to engage and empower our community to take care of their health and wellbeing and to prevent issues from occurring.

“We have a community where we can seek help when life gets challenging, where we can make meaningful connections and have open conversations.”

Ballina RSL chef Brad Browning will prepare a two-course lunch, including offerings such as lamb kofta over herbed couscous, cumin spiced pork fillet, smoked oyster blade steak and butternut and truffle risotto.

Guests will be also entertained with music videos by Lismore band Power Drill and a short video, Telling an Aussie You’re Sad, by Tik Tok stars ReeseBros.

There will also be prizes, including an online fitness program from Boundless and two rounds of golf at Teven Valley Golf Course.
