MELBOURNE indie rock outfit Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows will headline a multi-band show at the Lennox Hotel, featuring a mix of local acts and touring artists.
The free-entry event will be held on Saturday, 11 April, presented by Messy Fuzz in conjunction with Spangled Drongo Brewing and the hotel.
The show, titled Dogs in Wolf Suits, includes local acts Nuexit, Flukes of Sendington, Cannabyss, Holystone and Dad Fight.
Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows have been playing together for more than a decade.
The band includes lead singer and guitarist Tim Coutts-Smith, bass player Liam Barry, guitarist Jordan Richardson and drummer Brayden Becher.
They are currently on tour after releasing a fourth album, Inexorable Opposites.
“We weren’t planning on going there originally, we were just going to do the usual East Coast run,” Becher said.
“But I’d been up to Byron and Lennox before and met so many nice people. It’s a beautiful place and I just thought the band would do well there.”
The band is built around the Jack Harlon alter ego and produces much of its own music and visual art, with a sound described as psychedelic western rock.
Becher, 27, joined the band two years ago.

He said the band helped inspire him when he first started playing.
“It’s the first album the band has done with live drums on it, and it was my first album with them,” he said.
“All the earlier stuff used programmed drums, so it was pretty special to come in and record properly.”
The new record also explores more personal themes, shaped by experiences shared by Becher and Coutts-Smith.
“It definitely leans more into real-life experiences,” Becher said.
“When I joined, I was going through a heavy time, my dad had just passed away and that emotion found its way into the music.
“Tim was going through a few things as well and drew on those experiences.
“There’s a track called On the Overwhelm that really captures that feeling. It’s about how we were both processing things.”
The band will also play at Howl & Moan Records in Byron Bay on Friday, 10 April.
The Lennox Head show starts at 7pm with each band playing a 40-minute set.
