DESIGNER threads from beloved local labels such as ROWIE, Island Luxe and Enzo & Toto will be up for grabs this Saturday June 28 at the SHIFT Project’s annual charity garage sale, held at the Byron Bay Surf Club.

Co-organiser Leslie Ford said there would be “mountains” of new donated and quality second-hand clothing available on the day, along with shoes and bags.

Clothes will be sorted into price categories of $10, $20, $30, $50 and $100.

“For many years we have had a $5 pile on the floor but it distracted people from the better stuff so we have gotten rid of the $5 pile this year,” Ford said.

Ford, who is co-owner of Bangalow boutique Bell & Ford and owner of Asian food and homewares store Red Ginger, said the event has become a fixture on the local calendar.

“I think this is the sixth time we have done it and it’s much anticipated from the point of view of people both donating and buying,” she said.

The sale kicks off at 8am, and Ford recommends arriving early.

“There are people lining up at the door and it’s wild,” she said. “Wild and fun!”

All proceeds will go toward programs supporting women and families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
