Dionne Warwick’s one last tour
DIONNE Warwick will bring her final tour to Twin Towns on Wednesday, January 15, offering Australian audiences a chance to celebrate 50 years of her iconic career in music.
The six-time Grammy Award-winner returns on her One Last Time Tour, celebrating 50 years of hit songs and industry change-making.
With energy and finesse that belies her years, audiences will hear beloved songs still popular today, including Walk on By, Anyone Who Had a Heart, A House is Not a Home, Alfie, Say a Little Prayer, and I’ll Never Fall in Love Again.
From the 1960s, Warwick carved a formidable reputation for her distinctive vocal style and swing. The highly awarded artist’s prize hall includes over 30 hits, 20 best-selling albums, six Grammy awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, a Walk of Fame star and a BB King Lifetime Achievement Award.
She is one of the most charted female recording artists ever, second only to Aretha Franklin.
The New Jersey native had an extraordinary year in 2023, beginning with the release of the Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over documentary.
She was inducted into the American Jazz Hall of Fame, alongside longtime collaborator and composer Burt Bacharach, and was honoured at the 46th Kennedy Center Honours.
Warwick is long recognised for her humanitarian work and has ardently advocated for AIDS awareness, The Starlight Foundation, children’s hospitals, and music education.
She featured on the all-star charity single, We Are the World, and in Live Aid. Recording with Gladys Knight, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder, with the number one hit That’s What Friends Are For, she led the first recording dedicated to raising AIDS awareness.
In her 84th year, Warwick is having one of the most successful runs of her career and remains unstoppable. Celebrating 50 years of hits and Warwick’s legend and legacy, the tour represents the last time the singer is likely to embark on such a tour to this part of the world.
