A NEW Tweed Heads group is launching to help men build connections through life-changing conversations over dinner.
The national Men’s Table is travelling across the state and will hold an entree event at Twin Towns on Monday, March 3.
The regional host for northern NSW, Wayne Krueger, said establishing a Tweed table has been on the agenda after launching two similar groups in Lismore.
“We had a look at what resources we have and where we thought there was a need for one,” he said.
“It will be the first for the area and will hopefully help some people who are looking for a bit of support.
The entree event is a chance to get a taste of what the group offers and what people can expect from the monthly meeting.
The men’s table was formed in 2011 with 12 men and has grown into a national charity with 200 groups across the country.
“It’s all about forming connections and having a support network,” Mr Krueger said.
“The table creates a sense of belonging, community, peer support and camaraderie that is lacking for many men, even for some who already have a group of mates.”
Each table is distinct and has its own personality, guided by the fundamentals of the group.
Long-serving members will speak at the Tweed introduction event, which will run from 7pm to 9pm.
