GAWK Outdoor appoints Alex Anthony as agency sales director
GAWK Outdoor has appointed former VMO sales director Alex Anthony as its group agency sales director for New South Wales and Queensland.
The hire comes weeks after the regional out-of-home (OOH) advertising company ended its partnership with oOh!media and brought agency sales in-house.
Anthony will lead agency relationships in NSW and Queensland, joining Tim Stevenson, who oversees agency sales in Victoria and South Australia.
The appointment completes GAWK’s national agency sales structure following its shift away from external sales representation.
Anthony joins GAWK after a career in out-of-home advertising that included senior roles at VMO, where he progressed from account manager to NSW sales director.
He has previously received industry recognition, including OMA Emerging Leader and Media i NSW OOH Person of the Year awards.
GAWK director Luke Course said the appointment was part of a broader strategy to expand the company’s national footprint.
“We didn’t hire Alex to maintain momentum. We hired him to multiply it. He’s smart, respected and doesn’t shy away from calling bullshit. That’s exactly the energy Gawk runs on,” Course said.
Anthony said the role reflected his confidence in regional out-of-home advertising.
“Gawk stands out for its ambition and its genuine belief in the power of regional OOH. The scale is meaningful, the growth is accelerating, and the opportunity to build something special is clear. It’s an exciting next chapter and one I couldn’t be more pumped to get stuck into,” he said.
GAWK operates more than 422 static and 64 digital billboard faces across regional Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
The company was founded in 2018 by brothers Luke and James Course and was listed on the AFR Fast Starters list in 2022.
GAWK said the appointment followed its decision to build a dedicated internal agency sales team as it expands its presence in NSW and targets further growth.
