APPLICATIONS are now open for the Northern Rivers Community Foundation’s 2025 Empowering Women and Girls grants.
Three grants of $20,000 will be awarded to women-led, not-for-profit organisations working to improve the lives of women and girls in the Northern Rivers.
Funded by the foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle, the grant supports grassroots initiatives that promote gender equality and target issues including health, leadership, safety and financial independence.
Organisations working with women facing multiple forms of disadvantage are encouraged to apply, including First Nations women, LGBTQI+ women, migrants, older women and those experiencing housing or income insecurity.
Northern Rivers Community Foundation chief executive Sam Henderson said the impact of the program was growing each year.
“Thanks to the phenomenal growth of the Women’s Giving Circle, the funding for our Empowering Women & Girls Grant and its impact is increasing every year,” he said.
“It goes to show how powerful collective giving can be at supporting grassroots change.”
Applications close 31 July.
Grant writing webinars will be held on 15 and 17 July to support interested organisations.
Last year’s recipients included Women Up North, Human Nature and Haus of Armour.
