Hogan wins fifth term in Page
He has represented the seat of Page since 2013.
It was previously held by Labor’s Janelle Saffin, who is now the state MP for Lismore.
Mr Hogan led Labor’s Wendy Backhous 60–40 in the two-party preferred count
He pledged more than $1 million to rebuild Corndale Hall as part of the Coalition’s election commitments. It will now be up to the new government to decide whether to proceed with the funding.
Surrounded by family and supporters, Mr Hogan said he planned to get straight back to work after his post-election party.
“It is very humbling to be re-elected with an increase in my primary vote.
I thank everyone for their continued support,” Mr Hogan said.
“I acknowledge the other candidates, who were a great and interesting group of people, all reflecting our wonderfully diverse community.
“To my family, Karen, Bridget, Sean and Ruby, and Rosie, your love and support sustains me in this role.
“We have a world leading democracy, I wish the government well.
“There are many challenges we face but I am always optimistic about our future due the character of the Australian people.”
