Lismore local business legends under the spotlight
LISMORE City Council has launched the Local Legends campaign after ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred to support the local businesses that have moved forward with energy and optimism.
The campaign celebrates their strength, highlighting the inspiring stories of community spirit and inviting visitors to rediscover the region and show their support.
Lismore mayor Steve Krieg said it was essential to support the local legends. “This campaign is all about shining a spotlight on the local businesses that truly are the backbone of our community,” Cr Krieg said.
“We encourage everyone, locals and visitors alike, to get behind our local legends.
“Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, browsing local stores, booking a service or event or visiting for a day trip, every little bit helps in keeping Lismore’s business community strong and thriving.”
The Local Legends campaign uses visuals and storytelling to highlight Lismore’s businesses and attractions, targeting regional and interstate audiences across social media platforms.
Lismore City Council’s destination coordinator, Karen Hirst, said the businesses played a vital role in the community.
“Lismore is home to a diverse mix of businesses, from boutique shops and dining experiences to vibrant galleries and those hosting unique local events,” Hirst said.
“These businesses define the essence of our destination, creating the character and atmosphere that makes Lismore a welcoming and vibrant community.
“Now is the perfect time to explore our stunning region, enjoy its natural beauty and support our local legends.
“Our hotels are welcoming guests, our businesses are buzzing, and we’ve got some exciting events lined up.”
