LOCAL sporting clubs and organisations can now apply for the New South Wales Local Sport Grants for funding from $2000 to $20,000.

The program aims to increase regular and ongoing participation opportunities in sport in NSW, to foster sector growth, enhance facilities and spaces, and to develop opportunities for people of all abilities and ages to enjoy.

NSW Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin encouraged local groups to apply for grants towards facility upgrades, new equipment, and programs supporting participation in sport and active recreation.

“Like any sporting contest, this small grants program is highly competitive, but you’ve got to be in it to win it,” Saffin said.

“Sporting clubs often struggle to raise funds to cover everything that they would like to offer their membership, so these grants can fill those gaps.”

In 2025, $4.65 million has been allocated for the program, which last year supported 579 programs throughout the state.

NSW Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said the Government was backing grassroots clubs.

“The Local Sport Grant Program delivers where it matters – better gear, safer facilities, and more opportunities for people to get active and love their sport,” Kamper said.

“If your club needs new equipment or has a great program idea but hasn’t had the resources to make it happen, now’s the time to apply.

“Let’s get more people moving, playing and enjoying sport right across NSW.”

Applications close at 1 pm on Monday, August 18.
