BUNDJALUNG chef Mindy Woods shows no signs of slowing down following her Champions of Change win at the World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards in Italy in June, with a packed series of exciting events ahead.

The former MasterChef contestant and proud Bundjalung woman, who founded immersive cultural and culinary experience Karkalla on Country at the organic farm Conscious Ground in Myocum, has a busy few weeks ahead.

First stop is Sydney, where Woods will launch the new Supper Series at profit-for-purpose restaurant Song Kitchen on October 1.

Woods will headline Powerful Plates, a night celebrating her journey as Australia’s “native food queen”. Guests will enjoy a three-course meal, beginning with canapés and a welcome cocktail, followed by dishes expertly paired with wines that elevate and complement native Australian ingredients. The evening marks the launch of a limited two-week collaborative menu designed by Woods and the Song Kitchen team.

Next, Woods will travel to Canberra to take part in OzHarvest’s CEO Cookoff at Matt Moran’s COMPA Ristorante.

There, she’ll join forces with AK Ramakrishna of AK’s Diner and ten business leaders to prepare a gourmet meal for guests from charities supported by the beloved food rescue organisation.

Woods will then return home to the Northern Rivers for a highlight event at the Savour the Tweed Festival.

On Wednesday October 22, she will team up with acclaimed chef Christine Manfield for Walking Together, a collaborative dining experience hosted at Ancora in Tweed Heads. The evening will blend foraged and locally sourced native ingredients with Manfield’s celebrated Indian flavours.

Guests will be welcomed with a Banaam cultural dance performance and a traditional Welcome to Country, before being treated to three rolling courses of shared plates, Birds of Isle Bunya Nut Rum cocktails and wines from Indigenous-owned Mt Yengo Wines.
