RA releases 10 more relocatable homes for auction
THE New South Wales Reconstruction Authority has made 10 more flood-affected, relocatable homes available through auction in Lismore on July 8.
The release follows the 20 Northern Rivers recovered homes that the authority made available by expression of interest (EOI) in May.
The RA and managing agents have advised that with no reserve price, potential buyers could purchase a buyback home at a very low cost, depending on the number of bidders.
The rolling program to relocate and reuse flood-affected homes purchased through the Resilient Homes Program was initially designed to test the interest, land availability, and capacity of communities to buy relocatable homes via the Expression of Interest (EOI).

A robust response demonstrated capacity and interest from residents who had land available, and the RA has since transitioned from evaluating buyers and their readiness to a public auction program to meet local demand.
The RA will release homes for auction throughout 2025 and provide details on the homes, including inspection and auction dates, via the nominated real estate agents.
The auction of the 10 Lismore homes on Laurel Avenue, Simmons, Tweed, and Magellan Streets will be managed by Wal Murray & Co. First National Real Estate.
Buyers will have up to 12 months to relocate the home and must demonstrate that it will be relocated to land outside Priority 1, 2, and 3 zones, as per the RA Flood Prioritisation Maps.
