Standout startup — The Brooklet stars at business awards
LUXURY hinterland retreat The Brooklet was the standout winner at the 2024 Uniquely Byron Business Awards, taking home the gongs for both Stand Up Start Up: Excellence in New Business and Business of the Year.
The business, located next to Gaia Retreat & Spa at Brooklet, was recognised for attracting high-end tourists, collaborating with other local businesses and its eco-friendly practices.
Farm-to-table restaurant Frida’s Field at nearby Nashua received the Exceptional Eats: Outstanding Dining Experience award, while immersive art and light gallery OTHERWORLD Byron Bay got the Creative Champions: Excellence in Arts & Creativity gong.
The winners of the awards, organised by Byron Shire Chamber of Commerce, were announced at an end of year celebration at Ember Byron Bay on Thursday night.
Cape Byron Kayaks was named the winner of The Pass: Excellence in Surf & Ocean Culture category, while Sunday Sustainable Bakery, which has outlets in Byron Bay, the arts and industry and estate and Ocean Shores, won Rise and Shine: Outstanding Café & Coffee Experience.
Explore Byron Bay, operated by proud Bundjalung woman Delta Kay, won The Deadlys: Outstanding First Nations Business or Organisation award, while Byron Theatre took home the After Dark: Evening Economy Experience trophy.
Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary won the Tourism Titans: Excellence in Visitor Economy, and mixed enterprise business Banyula won Eco Warriors: Excellence in Sustainability.
Bangalow-based social enterprise commercial laundry Beacon Laundry received the Peace Love and Mungbeans: Outstanding Community Organisation award.
Independent project and property development management consultancy Macon won Service Stars: Excellence in Business and Professional Services, while ST Electrical & Data took home the Top Tradie: Excellence in Trade, Construction and Manufacturing award.
