HIGH-FLYING, body-slamming action returns to the region as International Wrestling Australia (IWA) brings its summer tour to Club Evans RSL on Sunday, January 12.

IWA director Rob Oxley said the event, featuring heavyweight bouts, tag teams, and daredevil stunts, is expected to draw fans from Ballina, Lismore, and beyond.

“We had plenty of interest the last time we came to Ballina and we know people will travel to see us,” Oxley said.

“This is a chance for people to see the best wrestlers in Australia on one of our biggest regional tours.”.”

IWA, the longest-running professional wrestling company in Australia, has been staging shows for over 25 years. The family-friendly events combine dramatic storytelling with action-packed wrestling, including daredevil stunts and top-rope leaps.

“Our best wrestlers are the ones who bring their own personality and dial it up to 11,” Oxley said.

“Wrestling allows people to be an extension of themselves and they can make the people either love or hate them.”

Current champion Jimmy Townsend and standout female wrestler Rita Stone will headline the show. The IWA has also launched stars like Grayson Waller and Bronson Reed, who now perform for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

“Not only have they come though our system, but they stay up to date with what’s going on and have been really good to us,” Oxley said.

“I can confidently say our guys bring the passion to each of our shows and I know they look forward to our summer tour.”
