One OF Australia’s biggest singing stars and music legends, Marcia Hines, is bringing her Still Shining Concert Tour to Tweed Heads next month.<\/p>\n

The two-and-a-half-hour Twin Towns show on Friday, October 11, will feature every hit from the vast catalogue of her five-decade career, 22 albums with over 2.6 million copies sold.<\/p>\n

In 2023, ABC Records and Midnight Records released a 22-song celebration, Still Shining: the 50th Anniversary Ultimate Collection. The hits are as fresh as ever, from “Fire and Rain” to “What I Did for Love”, “You”, “Your Love Still Brings Me to My Knees”, and “Something’s Missing (In My Life)”. Two new songs produced by the LA-based Australian producer\/composer Michael Fatkin also made the cut.<\/p>\n

Hines said she had to admit the release of Still Shining was as exciting as the release of her first album (Marcia Shines, 1975).<\/p>\n

“Honestly, some things never get old,” she said. “It’s an honour to be still releasing music and playing to live audiences around the country.”<\/p>\n

Her previous album, The Gospel According to Marcia, celebrated her musical roots, memories from her childhood in Boston, and early experiences with gospel music.<\/p>\n

As a young child, the singer spent her Sundays accompanying her blind godmother to churches in inner-city Boston, where she was the leader of the church choirs. This guidance propelled Hines to Australia in 1970 and into the lead role in the musical Hair at the age of 16.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging her services to the Australian entertainment industry, she was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2007, received an Order of Australia (AM) in 2009 and in 2023, received the Support Act Music in the House Award for Excellence in the Community.<\/p>\n

Hines is presently starring as Teen Angel in the new live production of Grease the Musical and can also be seen as a popular returning judge on Australian Idol.<\/p>\n

Her return to regional centres across Australia acknowledges the significance of these cities and towns to her journey as an artist, which was so crucial to the establishment of her relationship with Australian audiences all those years ago.<\/p>\n
