{"id":103756,"date":"2024-12-23T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=103756"},"modified":"2024-12-17T23:02:11","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T12:02:11","slug":"lions-club-hosts-christmas-in-the-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/news\/lions-club-hosts-christmas-in-the-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Lions club hosts Christmas in the Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Lennox Head Lions Club is hosting its Christmas in the Park event for a second time at Ross Park today, Friday, December 20.<\/p>\n<p>It was a big success last year and will help fill the void with no major Christmas event at Williams Reserve this month.<\/p>\n<p>Lions member Christine Stores said the club is aiming to run a relaxed event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The intention is for a family friendly event that marks the end of the school year and welcomes the holiday season,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a chocolate wheel with hams donated by the IGA, with puddings and cakes as prizes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Lennox Legends volunteer their time and will be playing some Christmas music.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We invite people to come along, relax and enjoy a lovely night.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/12\/410727814_7480665406_74417.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There will be live music and entertainment at the Christmas in the Park event at Lennox Head. Photos: SUPPLIED.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Lions will have a barbecue available with steak sandwiches, sausages on bread and the usual barbecue favourites.<\/p>\n<p>Families are encouraged to bring a blanket with the event running from 5pm to 8pm.<\/p>\n<p>It caps a big year for the Lions club after recently running its John Mitchell charity golf day.<\/p>\n<p>Each year, it picks a beneficiary with $10,000 going to the Mental Health Support Group.<\/p>\n<p>It is based at Lismore and provides support services to people across the Northern Rivers region.<\/p>\n<p>The club has also just donated a new defibrillator to the Epiq sport fields, made possible through a donation from Lennox Head CWA before its closure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Lennox Head Lions Club is hosting its Christmas in the Park event for a second time at Ross Park today, Friday, December 20.
