{"id":103807,"date":"2024-12-26T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-25T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=103807"},"modified":"2024-12-18T16:31:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-18T05:31:03","slug":"swim-into-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/news\/swim-into-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"Swim into summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WITH the holiday season fast approaching, the Tweed Regional Aquatic Centre (TRAC) is wrapping up 2024 programs and updating opening hours for the summer.<\/p>\n<p>A series of activities are planned for the festive wrap-up, including Slide and Dive fun, TRAC squad breakfast, and a Santa visit for the smaller swimmers.<\/p>\n<p>The squad break-up party at Murwillumbah will be held next Friday, December 20, after state squad training winds up at 7 am.<\/p>\n<p>The final squad session of the year is Saturday, December 21. Morning sessions will resume on Thursday, January 2, and regular squad training returns on Monday, January 6.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_106192\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-106192\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-106192\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/12\/Screenshot2024-12-11_92048_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"462\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-106192\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slide and Dive fun is a perennial summer favourite. Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>School holiday five-day intensive swim programs will run from January 13 to 17 at Kingscliff, Murwillumbah and South Tweed pools to kickstart the new year.<\/p>\n<p>The intensives are an opportunity to take swimming skills to the next level. Experienced instructors provide focused, individualised guidance to swimmers of all levels to improve their technique, endurance, and confidence in the water in a fun and supportive environment.<\/p>\n<p>Learn to Swim classes return on Monday, February 10 and run until Saturday, April 12, in a nine-week term. Those wishing to fast-track their swimming skills can add an extra 30-minute weekly class at a discounted rate.<\/p>\n<p>In Murwillumbah, the slide and diving boards will be open every day of the school holidays from Thursday, December 19, between 10 am and 3 pm.<\/p>\n<p>The final aqua aerobics for 2024 will be on Saturday, December 21, and classes will resume on Monday, January 6.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_106193\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-106193\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-106193\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/12\/Screenshot2024-12-11_92092_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"814\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-106193\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Beat the heat with the summer favourite slide at TRAC Murwillumbah.
