THE FEDERAL Government has announced a $3 billion investment to upgrade broadband infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The upgrade will deliver faster internet to 622,000 premises nationwide, including many on the North Coast, by 2030.<\/p>\n
Member for Richmond Justine Elliot unveiled the funding locally on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cFast, reliable, affordable internet is an essential building block of any modern economy,\u201d Elliot said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBetter connectivity boosts productivity, enables innovation, and creates jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n
This investment builds on the Government\u2019s earlier $2.4 billion upgrade program, which improved broadband for 1.5 million premises, including 660,000 in rural and regional areas.<\/p>\n
Elliot said the latest rollout would expand economic opportunities for North Coast residents and businesses by improving digital connectivity.<\/p>\n
The latest funding aims to support stronger connectivity and more reliable digital infrastructure for North Coast communities.<\/p>\n
