Alongside the major acquisition is a Director&#8217;s Choice acquisitive award of $4,000 and a People&#8217;s Choice Award of $1,500.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by the Tweed Regional Gallery &amp; Margaret Olley Art Centre, director Ingrid Hedgcock said the award had allowed photographic portraiture artists to be deservedly celebrated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we commemorate 20 years since this prestigious biennial award began, we reflect on its evolution into a significant platform that celebrates excellence in photographic portraiture across Australia.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108786\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108786\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-108786\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/03\/art2_06203_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108786\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Director\u2019s Choice 2023 winner Ferne Millen &#8211; No Labels Required. PHOTO: FERNE MILLEN<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 judging panel comprises photographer and daughter of Olive Cotton Sally McInerney and Director of Content, Strategy &amp; Partnerships, Aboriginal Cultural Centre project Glenn Iseger-Pilkington.<\/p>\n<p>Museum of Australian Photography senior curator Angela Connor and National Gallery of Australia senior curator of photography Shaune Lakin also join the panel.<\/p>\n<p>The award is funded by the Cotton family, with additional purchase awards sponsored by the Friends of Tweed Regional Gallery &amp; Margaret Olley Art Centre Inc.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The award will continue to honour the enduring legacy of Olive Cotton \u2013 to have her daughter Sally McInerney return to the panel for the first time since the inaugural award is a fitting way to recognise this milestone,&#8221; Hedgcock said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108785\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108785\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-108785\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/03\/art1_06160_tn.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"695\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108785\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">2023 winner Gerwyn Davies &#8211; Replica 2023.
