FLOOD-affected homeowners in Lismore and the Tweed are invited to attend Resilient Homes Expos this month to get support with rebuilding, relocation and grant applications.<\/p>\n
The NSW Reconstruction Authority is hosting the expos to assist homeowners through the grant process, development approvals and project delivery.<\/p>\n
Registered Resilient Homes Program participants and community members considering a buyback relocation can speak with council officers, planning experts and building professionals.<\/p>\n
Information stands will be staffed by representatives from local councils, the Reconstruction Authority, SafeWork NSW, Building Commission NSW and businesses offering resilient building services.<\/p>\n
Builders, architects, engineers, town planners, relocation specialists and project managers will also be available.<\/p>\n
Lismore and Tweed council officers will guide attendees through development approval requirements, while RA team members will support with grant applications.<\/p>\n
Attendees can book a 15-minute one-on-one appointment with a council officer or Resilient Homes Program team member.<\/p>\n
Breakout sessions will cover resilient building measures, feasibility assessments, development approvals, grant applications and the relocation process.<\/p>\n
Topics will include raising, retrofitting or rebuilding homes, setting a budget, preparing a development application, understanding grant assessments, and preparing a home for relocation under a Site Access Agreement.<\/p>\n
The Tweed expo will take place at the Civic and Cultural Centre on Tuesday, May 6, at 4pm.<\/p>\n
The Lismore expo will follow at Invercauld House in Goonellabah on Wednesday, May 21, at 4pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
