{"id":106597,"date":"2025-05-03T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=106597"},"modified":"2025-04-30T18:56:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T08:56:50","slug":"party-on-at-proudfoots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/news\/party-on-at-proudfoots\/","title":{"rendered":"Party on at Proudfoot&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LIVE music, street art, twilight shopping and hands-on fun will fill Murwillumbah&#8217;s Proudfoot&#8217;s Lane on Saturday, May 17, for a free community street party.<\/p>\n<p>Organisers are inviting the community to amble through the lane and take in the bold new street art, interactive installations, and lightboxes showcasing local artists.<\/p>\n<p>Street murals, art installations and lighting projections created by artists Gus Eagleton, Leah Bartholomew, Bec Denholm, Binx Designs, Kyle Slabb, Madeline White, Thea Skelsey and Michael Philp provide a feast for the eyes.<\/p>\n<p>A pop-up barber station by Bonneville Barbershop will offer quick fringe trims, moustache and beard touch-ups, and sharp styles for a quick refresh.<\/p>\n<p>Community members can unleash their inner artists at Chalk Mural Mania and help transform the laneway with colour and creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Tweed Regional Museum will present a roving display with hands-on activities inspired by How to Draw a Dinosaur and a projection experience by Craig Walsh that brings ancient creatures to life in the Tweed River.<\/p>\n<p>The Youth Chillarium is designed for young people to hang out, connect, and unwind during the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>Bring a game face and best serve for the all-age handball sessions, which will feature an Australian Champion or visit community group Knit Happens to create something on-site to help yarn bomb the lane with colour.<\/p>\n<p>Local businesses, including Bolt &amp; Buckle, My Love, MaddisonBea, and others, will be open for twilight shopping for local treasures.<\/p>\n<p>Murwillumbah Community Centre will present a cultural performance by a local First Nations group celebrating its connection to Country.<\/p>\n<p>Live music will be provided by Phil &amp; Tilley and a line-up of local buskers.<\/p>\n<p>Modern Grocer, Wollumbin Street Bakery, Pasta&#8217;Bah and The Gin Experience will offer food and beverage options for every craving.<\/p>\n<p>Business Murwillumbah is hosting the free event as part of the Murwillumbah Community Improvement pilot project, supported by the NSW Government.<\/p>\n<p>For information on the laneway festivities, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/events.humanitix.com\/proudfoots-lane-party\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">events.humanitix.com\/proudfoots-lane-party<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIVE music, street art, twilight shopping and hands-on fun will fill Murwillumbah&#8217;s Proudfoot&#8217;s Lane on Saturday, May 17, for a free community street party.
