{"id":107437,"date":"2025-06-07T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=107437"},"modified":"2025-06-05T14:41:01","modified_gmt":"2025-06-05T04:41:01","slug":"beefheart-returns-for-northern-rivers-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/news\/beefheart-returns-for-northern-rivers-shows\/","title":{"rendered":"Beefheart returns for Northern Rivers shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOLK and indie rock musician Moby Beefheart is returning to the Northern Rivers, where he spent time writing and recording his new solo album before launching his career in a new direction with talented guitarist Winter McQuinn.<\/p>\n<p>The pair will play a feature show at Pearces Creek Hall on Friday, June 6, and support JB Paterson at the Eltham Hotel on Saturday, June 7.<\/p>\n<p>William Murray (Beefheart) lived near the hall and worked at the hotel last year.<\/p>\n<p>He linked up with McQuinn after moving to Melbourne, with the pair set to play one of their first live shows together.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It feels nice to have been part of the community and to come back for my music,&#8221; Beefheart said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I watched a lot of bands play at Eltham, but I never got the chance to get up on stage myself.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/06\/BannerPic_66869.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Moby Beefheart and Winter McQuinn share a love of folk and rock sounds of yesteryear. Photo: SUPPLIED.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been to a few shows at the hall and it&#8217;s such a special space, too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The duo have released their first single, Hand in Hand, with the album due to come out next year.<\/p>\n<p>They share a love of folk and rock sounds of yesteryear and created a new album within 12 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Beefheart is a former member of British rock band Fur and has performed across the world.<\/p>\n<p>He is looking forward to playing at Pearces Creek Hall, which offers a boutique setting.<\/p>\n<p>The hall is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers who support bringing talented musicians to the venue.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/06\/452473010_8960222892_81105.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"609\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pearces Creek Hall offers a unique setting for musicians to play in a country setting.
