DESIGNER threads from beloved local labels such as ROWIE, Island Luxe and Enzo & Toto will be up for grabs this Saturday June 28 at the SHIFT Project’s annual charity garage sale, held at the Byron Bay Surf Club.<\/p>\n
Co-organiser Leslie Ford said there would be “mountains” of new donated and quality second-hand clothing available on the day, along with shoes and bags.<\/p>\n
Clothes will be sorted into price categories of $10, $20, $30, $50 and $100.<\/p>\n
“For many years we have had a $5 pile on the floor but it distracted people from the better stuff so we have gotten rid of the $5 pile this year,” Ford said.<\/p>\n
Ford, who is co-owner of Bangalow boutique Bell & Ford and owner of Asian food and homewares store Red Ginger, said the event has become a fixture on the local calendar.<\/p>\n
“I think this is the sixth time we have done it and it’s much anticipated from the point of view of people both donating and buying,” she said.<\/p>\n
The sale kicks off at 8am, and Ford recommends arriving early.<\/p>\n
“There are people lining up at the door and it’s wild,” she said. “Wild and fun!”<\/p>\n
All proceeds will go toward programs supporting women and families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
