Defending champion Lee Schraner will aim to win the men’s singles for a third straight year, while former Ballina bowler Aaron Teys will return after reaching the final last year.<\/p>\n
World singles gold medallist Ryan Bester, Australian open champion Aron Sherriff and world indoor singles champion Jack McShane will also compete.<\/p>\n
The junior Golden Nugget will also return with 48 rising stars from Australia, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand competing.<\/p>\n
It has long been regarded as a stepping stone for Australia’s elite young bowlers with many going on to the Jackaroos team.<\/p>\n
Club Tweed bowler Lilly Vardy has won back-to-back Queensland titles at under-18s level and is competing in the event for the third time.<\/p>\n
