Image courtesy the artist \u00a9 the artist.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gallery director Ingrid Hedgcock said the award had become one of the most respected in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Olive Cotton Award is a nationally recognised event for photographers and gallery visitors alike, and we&#8217;re already feeling the excitement build around who the winner might be,&#8221; Hedgcock said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All finalists are to be congratulated in what is a superb exhibition and I&#8217;m sure our gallery visitors will enjoy the selected works.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_115361\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-115361\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-115361\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/08\/CATCHER_2025_Leather_31072.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-115361\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dean Stewart, Catcher 2025, reclaimed leather, 100 cm diameter, \u00a9 The artist Photo: Guy Blunden<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seven Northern Rivers photographers are among the finalists \u2014 Adam Bailey, Lisa Sorgini, Craig Tuffin, Joel Benguigui, Paul Blackmore, Elise Derwin and Tajette O&#8217;Halloran.<\/p>\n<p>The award carries a $20,000 acquisitive first prize, with Director&#8217;s Choice awards of $4000 also to be announced.
