ALSTONVILLE Public School will celebrate 150 years of education, connection and community spirit with a community event on Saturday, November 22, from 9am to 12pm at the school on Main Street.<\/p>\n
Past and present students, staff, families and local residents are invited to take part in the sesquicentenary celebration.<\/p>\n
An official ceremony will be held at 11.30am, providing an opportunity to reflect on the school’s proud heritage and to acknowledge the generations of learners, teachers and families who have contributed to the school over the decades.<\/p>\n
Throughout the morning, visitors will be able to step inside open classrooms, join guided school tours and take part in a “talk through the generations” activity, designed to share stories, memories and laughter across different eras of school life.<\/p>\n
It will also be a chance to reconnect with old classmates, catch up with former teachers and recognise the strong sense of belonging that continues to define the school community.<\/p>\n
Devonshire tea, a Lions Club BBQ, free children’s entertainment and musical performances will run alongside historical displays presented by the Alstonville Plateau Historical Society.<\/p>\n
This family-friendly event includes onsite facilities and actively welcomes people with access needs.<\/p>\n
Support for the celebration has been provided by the Ballina RSL Club through ClubGRANTS.<\/p>\n
