{"id":111702,"date":"2025-11-30T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=111702"},"modified":"2025-11-26T22:32:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T11:32:01","slug":"northern-rivers-finalists-in-2025-premiers-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/living\/northern-rivers-finalists-in-2025-premiers-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Rivers finalists in 2025 Premier\u2019s Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE 2025 Premier\u2019s Awards recognised NSW public servants for outstanding service and community impact at a presentation at Parliament House last week.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s awards also celebrated a strong field of finalists, including two from Northern NSW, who represented the highest standards of integrity, inclusivity and service.<\/p>\n<p>State Member for Lismore, Janelle Saffin, congratulated finalists, Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) and The Rivers Secondary College, Lismore High Campus, in the Delivering World Class Education and Training category.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NNSWLHD was recognised for Building Healthier Communities through education, research and innovation, partnering with Southern Cross University, TAFE NSW, Bond University and Griffith University,\u201d Saffin said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Lismore High Campus was a finalist for its Tiny Homes @ Lismore High: Building Futures One Tiny Home at a Time project, partnering with Regional Industry Education Partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to all concerned as these awards celebrate excellence in public service delivery across NSW.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NSW Public Servant of the Year, acknowledging an individual who demonstrated a commitment to shaping an exceptional public service, went to Glenn George from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.<\/p>\n<p>The Anthea Kerr Award for future leaders winner was proud Wiradjuri woman Jayla Nix from the Murrumbidgee Local Health District for outstanding achievement and a deep commitment to public sector values.<\/p>\n<p>Premier of NSW Chris Minns said the awards highlighted the vital work done every day by public sector employees, often behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe finalists represent the best of our public service, people who show professionalism, care and a genuine commitment to making NSW a better place to live,\u201d Minns said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the NSW Government, I thank all public sector employees for their ongoing dedication and hard work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Premier\u2019s Department Secretary Simon Draper said the public service agencies were at the heart of the state\u2019s delivery and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Premier\u2019s Awards highlight the incredible leadership and commitment of public sector employees, week in and week out, as they serve the people of NSW.
