	{"id":113680,"date":"2026-03-11T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/?p=113680"},"modified":"2026-03-05T23:44:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T12:44:46","slug":"salt-stone-opens-new-chapter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/ballinatimes\/news\/salt-stone-opens-new-chapter\/","title":{"rendered":"Salt &amp; Stone opens new chapter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW owners have rebranded Fingal Head&#8217;s Sheoak Shack Gallery Cafe as Salt &amp; Stone, expanding its role in the local community.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua Marshall and Meckenzie Youngblutt took over the business last year.<\/p>\n<p>The couple have kept the caf\u00e9&#8217;s beach-shack style, dog-friendly policy, attached gallery space and Saturday night dinner service.<\/p>\n<p>They have also introduced grocery essentials including bread, milk and eggs.<\/p>\n<p>With no supermarket in Fingal\u00a0Head, the additions have been welcomed by locals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fingal has always been quite limited in food, retail and amenities, so we wanted to create a local hub offering coffee, meals, drinks, entertainment and everyday conveniences,&#8221; Marshall said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People are really stoked to finally be able to buy those basic items,&#8221; staff member Savannah Moroney said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The caf\u00e9 is definitely heading in the right direction.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After initially trading under the former name, the owners recently rebranded to reflect the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We felt we needed a new identity,&#8221; Marshall said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted a name that connects to the land and what this place represents, &#8216;Salt&#8217; for the beach and the river, and &#8216;Stone&#8217; for the basalt columns Fingal was founded upon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Marshall said the town&#8217;s relaxed coastal setting continues to attract visitors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In just a few short months we&#8217;ve met so many amazing people,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve really enjoyed incorporating as many local businesses into our shop as we can.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW owners have rebranded Fingal Head&#8217;s Sheoak Shack Gallery Cafe as Salt &amp; Stone, expanding its role in the local community.
