Get your body right for summer

Before you go back to doing the things you love or try new activities, it's a good idea to spend time preparing your body with strength training.

Now that winter is behind us and the weather is getting warmer, you might be considering getting out in the sun for ‘seasonal activities’.

If you’re tempted to join a friend for a hit of golf or are planning on making the most of the resort tennis court while on holiday, consider your current condition first.

If you have slowed down in the cooler months and have minimal conditioning, you’re at a higher risk of injury. The good news is that your body gets good at what you practice, so if you undertake regular strength training, your risk of injury is much lower.

No matter how old you are, exercise and physical activity are great for your physical, social, and mental well-being, but it’s good to consider your preparation.
