A new look for a trusted local pharmacy

CELEBRATING 21 years is a special milestone. Whether it is for a person or a business, it is certainly something to celebrate when you can.

The aim was to make the face of the pharmacy highly presentable and inviting to the thousands of people who come through the front door every month.

You start looking at the layout, the presentation and determining what you like and don’t like; what you could implement and what you would take a pass on.

The team put in the hard work to serve the community better, and all staff should be acknowledged for their contribution to this project and be proud of the end result, which is directly due to their efforts.

Updated shelving, new lighting and new flooring have been installed, while some aisles have been made wider to accommodate walkers and prams. New products have been added and popular categories expanded.

Comfortable consultation areas are provided to enable greater privacy for discussions and interactions with pharmacists and other staff when required.

New waiting areas and signage have also been implemented.

The storage and filing of prescriptions has been enhanced. Many more customers are choosing to store their electronic prescriptions on the Direct Chemist Outlet smartphone app, as well as their paper prescriptions, which are not only kept physically in store but also show up on the app.

The role that a pharmacy plays in the health of its local community is expanding, from beauty to vaccinations and anything in between. The goal is to help customers stay healthier, feel better and live longer in the comfort of their own homes.

With the revamp of the front of shop, opening hours have also changed slightly.

The new hours are: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 7.30pm; Saturday, 9am to 5pm; and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

More changes, ideas and refits are always in the pipeline. The aim is to continue serving the local community effectively and efficiently for at least another 20 years.
