Why choose Geelong Lutheran College?
Whether it be for Prep, Year 7, or another year level, finding a place of community, authentic care and rich learning opportunities is imperative.
With more than 60 years partnering with parents in the growth and development of young people, Geelong Lutheran College (GLC) continues to be the right choice for many families in the Greater Geelong region.
Students, parents and staff from the college shared their experiences and why others should choose GLC:
From students:
“I like GLC for the tight knit community that we have. Everyone knows each other and cares about one another.”
“Our school is just right, not too big, and not too small.”
“From the teachers to the students, GLC has provided a culture that has allowed me to flourish and discover more about my authentic self.”
From parents:
“It was very important for us to choose a school where our children are supported and encouraged to learn and grow. For the last six years, our three children have thrived in all aspects of learning where they felt included and appreciated.”
“We chose GLC Armstrong Creek for its faith-based education and Christian values. GLC fosters a strong family community, provides a high-quality education and a positive learning environment for our children.”

“Moving to Geelong without a network of family or friends, we were seeking not just a school, but a true community to belong to. At GLC, our children are more than just numbers—staff know them by name, and there’s a genuine sense of care and support.”
From staff:
“Geelong Lutheran College offers more than just an education — we partner with families to inspire lifelong learning and a deep sense of purpose.”
“GLC is a place where kindness and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do. With a deep commitment to pastoral care, we create a supportive, Christian environment where every student feels valued, connected, and empowered to thrive.”
These comments are not surprising to Executive Principal Sue Ellis, as they reflect what the College strives to provide for every student and family.
“A sense of belonging and community is central to our pastoral mission and our vision to be a Christ-centred learning community that inspires students to be caring, confident and creative citizens,” Sue said.
“Each year, we deliver comprehensive transition programs in Prep and Year 7 to ensure each new student feels connected, safe and prepared for their next step at school.”
GLC caters for students in Kindergarten – Year 12 across the St John’s Newtown (K-6) and Armstrong Creek (P-12) campuses. Applications for positions for 2027+ are now open.
Geelong Lutheran College encourages those interested to apply early and join them for a College tour.
