Apprenticeship and Traineeship Experts

Victorian Group Training (VGTC) has been offering training and employment opportunities to apprentices and trainees throughout the Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast regions for over 20 years. 

As a Group Training Organisation (GTOs), VGTC offers a wealth of services including recruitment, employment, payroll, work health and safety and mentoring and support to name a few.

VGTC has expert staff that can provide tailored employment and career advice and support to both employers and aspiring apprentices and trainees.  There is a strong demand for apprentices currently and with that comes a wealth of opportunities for all young people from all diversity cohorts.
Victorian Group Training’s completion rates sit well above the state average, due to providing a professional service resulting in high retention rates.

Heading into Spring, this is our busiest time as trades in particular get busier with the finer weather.  Construction forms a large part of our recruitment however we also have a range of opportunities across other industry sectors such as business administration, community services and dental assisting.  

We have highly successful programs such as our Gap Year Education Support Traineeship Program, where trainees work within primary and secondary schools as a trial and introduction to Education.  80% of our trainees end up heading into tertiary studies whilst working Part-Time in the Education Industry.  Others, through mentoring from VGTC, take different pathways through a number of different sectors, including nursing, childcare and other community service sectors.  

The benefits of this program are immense.  By allowing Gap Year Trainees to experience an industry before heading to University, allows those trainees to create a concrete career pathway before starting further study and avoiding a HELP/Univeristy debt for something they would not have wanted to enter into. 

Trainees come away with a Certificate 3 level qualification as well as valuable on the job experience, and a firmer mindset on their chosen career path.  All whilst getting paid to do it.

We are also very passionate about our Women in Trades Program which provides female students in senior secondary school with hands-on experience in a number of different trades.  We really encourage young women to pursue a trade and can provide extensive support to help guide and mentor both young women and their employers.
