BELLARINE community and sports organisations have received more than $60,000 from the federal government to help carry out projects.

Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson said she was delighted to announce that 14 Corangamite projects had so far received funding under Round 4 of the Morrison Government’s Stronger Communities Programme (SCP).

The Ocean Grove and District Men’s Shed has received $9,500 to help install a solar hot water system and solar panels on the roof to generate electricity for the shed, while the Ocean Grove SLSC received $10,000 for furnishing and equipping the clubrooms (which complements the $1 million the federal government is already providing to help fund construction of a new club building).

The Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras Junior Football Club received $10,000 to help upgrade the existing club facilities and to purchase new uniforms, while the Lions Club of Ocean Grove Barwon Heads received $11,500 to help fund construction of a storage shed for the Lions Club barbecue trailer.

The Rotary Club of Queenscliffe received $10,000 to go towards an outdoor gym equipment trail for Point Lonsdale, and Point Lonsdale SLSC received $10,000 to help with refurbishing the clubhouse interior and furnishings.

Under the SCP, grants are available between $2,500 and $20,000 for a maximum of 20 projects in the Corangamite electorate.
