A royal art and cocktails pop-up
Queenscliff is getting to experience a dynamic collaboration with The Royal Queenscliff teaming up with sought- after Australian artist Joan Blond and the team at The 18th Amendment Bar to present: The Royal – Gallery & Cocktail Bar until January 23, 2022.
Joan Blond is a renowned Australian abstract expressionist and contemporary artist. She grew up holidaying in Queenscliff and has spent much time there with family.
Joan’s works are constantly exhibited throughout Australia and are tightly held by collectors across the globe.
Whilst intuition drawn on memories both childhood and recent is the gentle force behind her brush strokes, she is heavily influenced by her connection to the environment and the energy she draws from her surroundings.
Joan’s works can be found in collections in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, and more.
Her works have featured on The Block and in national magazines including Home Beautiful and House & Garden.
Joan has collated a series of works referencing the Bellarine Peninsula specifically for local collectors.
Gorge Camorra is well known to Geelong locals as the hospitality pro behind Cloud9 Bar, The 18th Amendment Bar, Manhattan Bar and the soon to be launched Non Disclosure Bar.
Gorge holds multiple Australian and International mixology awards.
The works of Australian contemporary artists Jessica Baker and Nicole Baker are also featured in the exhibition.
If the feedback on this summer collaboration is anything to go by, you could be seeing more of this trio in the future.
While the gallery is open seven days per week, The 18th Amendment Bar is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Hours can be found on The Royal website at: www.royalqueenscliff.com.au.
