An abundance of fresh fun at fair

November 16, 2017 BY

The Freshwater Creek Steiner School fair is on again Saturday October 28 from 10am to 3pm, showcasing local music, arts and crafts and the culinary skill of its parent community.

The popular pop-up chai cafe offers a dazzling array of home baked cakes, biscuits and raw treats to enjoy and at the fresh produce stall visitors will find home grown fruit and veggies, eggs from backyard chickens and homemade preserves and treats to take home.

Lunch is an easy choice with food trucks and a biodynamic sausage sizzle on site.

Activities will run all day to keep children entertained. For younger children this year games and activities on offer include digging for gnome’s treasure, making flower crowns and a paper plane competition.

For older children, there will be a parkour course, a mini golf course and a billy cart challenge, with some great prizes on offer for these activities. It’s not too late to start building a billy cart!

Every year, the fair also hosts a bustling craft market while performances and live music from students create a festive atmosphere.

For parents interested in Steiner education, all of the purpose-built classrooms are open to view, with class teachers available to chat and answer questions.

Roaming the picturesque grounds on Spring Fair day is a sensory experience, inspiring a genuine sense of wellbeing.

The smell of hearty food in the air, music lilting on the breeze and smiling, rosy faces create a truly amazing event that celebrates the art of learning, creating, community and abundance.
