Activity at The Hive heats up at Easter

March 21, 2018 BY

The artwork at The Hive is continually changing so you will always see something new with every visit.

The Hive Gallery is a purpose-built gallery located next to Kingston Park in Ocean Grove.

The gallery has brought together many local artists from around the Bellarine Peninsula to display their work in the one place.

Upstairs includes a nice mix of paintings, glasswork, furniture and sculpture.

The artwork is continually changing so you will always see something new with every visit.

There are guest artists as well.

While downstairs displays the Willie Wildlife Sculptures range of bronze sculptures.

They specialise in birdbaths with native birds and animals welded to the rim.

Some of the most popular designs include blue wrens, willy-wagtails, lorikeets, frogs and cockatoos.

They also make free-standing sculptures and have a stunning set of five life-size pelicans on posts.

This year will be the 10th year that Willie Wildlife Sculptures will display their designs at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show in London and they will have the only Australian stand at the show.

This year they are planning a very special display to celebrate this anniversary in the “Year of the Dog”.

If you would like a sneak peak of some of the new designs to be launched at the show it would be worth heading to their Easter Drinks Party.

Some of the new designs include seahorses, mother hen with chickens, guinea fowl, Staffy and Labrador with pups.

You also have the opportunity to meet many of the artists to learn about their work and what inspires them.
