Adult Ballet pirouettes onto the Bellarine
Adult Ballet Bellarine
Adult Ballet Bellarine, now in its third year, offers ballet classes for people who have no experience of dance as well as those who have danced previously in their lives and now want to rekindle their love of ballet.
Looking back through history, dance has been used to express many human emotions, joy, grief, sadness and more. Dance is also wonderful tool to improve co-ordination, motor skills and memory. Adult Ballet Bellarine classes cater for dancers from 20-70.
All classes are conducted at the Potato Shed, Peninsula Drive, Drysdale, in the fully equipped dance studio.
The level 1 class is for students with little or no experience of ballet. Classes are structured to introduce basic ballet technique, accompanied by beautiful music, encouraging improvisation and individual artistry.
Class numbers are limited to ensure that all participants receive personal attention.
Allegonda Deppe loves sharing her love of dance with all her students, and the adult classes prove to be especially rewarding as the students evolve and grow more confident in their technique, performance and artistry.
Following many years of performing, examining and teaching, Allegonda is now focusing on working with adults and freelance teaching at various dance schools. She is a Fellow of Cecchetti Ballet Australia, has a Cert IV in dance training and management, as well as a BA in Visual Arts which has been a great asset in choreography.
Interested people are invited to enrol in an introduction to ballet workshop on February 11 from 2pm-3.30pm, cost $25 (enrolment is essential), at the Potato Shed Drysdale.
There will be chance for coffee and a chat after the class.
Those attending the class are advised to wear leggings and a T-shirt, or ballet shoes, leotard and tights if owned, but these are not necessary.
