Aged care forum at Grove

October 20, 2017 BY

OCEAN Grove residents will next week have the opportunity to learn firsthand about a system helping older people remain living independently, at home, in their communities.

On Monday, September 25, the discussion forum at Ocean Grove Neighbourhood Centre will provide information on how to access services, assessment and care planning available under the federal government’s comprehensive My Aged Care scheme.

The forum, hosted jointly by the Bellarine Aged Care Association (BACA) and positive ageing group Staying in Portarlington (SIP), is one in a series of consumer-focused discussions planned for the Bellarine.

Both associations strongly endorse My Aged Care’s aim to enhance greater consumer control of services, where service users decide what services they need and when.

BACA and SIP therefore encourage current and potential service users, and their families, to not miss out on this local and free informative session which will include a question time and afternoon tea.

The forum runs from 2-4pm and numbers are limited. Registrations are essential – phone SIP secretary Chris Kelly on 0438 404 867 to book your place.

For more information, email SIP president Jenny Wills on [email protected].
