ARMSTRONG GEELONG CATS FAMILY FUN DAY
Get your blue and white hoops out, Cats fans! It’s time for the spectacular Geelong Cats Family Fun Day at Armstrong.
Pencil in Sunday, April 7 in your diary and on the fridge, in big letters, because that’s when AFL stars from the Geelong Cats will be on hand at Armstrong Oval to kick, pass, mark and talk all things football.
Armstrong maintains terrific ties with the Geelong Football Club and this year’s family fun day will see Cats players Luke Dahlhaus, Zac Smith and Lachie Henderson on board for yet another big day out with Villawood Properties.
After the success of last year’s Cats fan School of Greatness, a carnival of Cats fan stations will be set up again for junior blue-and-white followers. These will include handballs, kicking the footy and other footy- themed activities.
Prizes galore will be on offer, including Cats footballs, posters and merch, a money-can’t-buy-it Cats team photo and a signed Cats guernsey.
Like other Villawood activities, it’s all aimed at bringing the Armstrong community so there will a jumping castle, face painting, a sausage sizzle by the good people of the Grovedale Tigers Footy Netball Club, music performers, coffees and loads more to do.
So, a few particulars:
There’s going to be special Handball Station where you can put your passing skills to the test.
There’s going to be another Kicking Station to check your football kicking ability and skill in length and accuracy.
At the Cheer Squad Station, Cats fans will be able to put their vocal cords to the test barracking, as well as waving and demonstrating their overall enthusiasm.
It won’t stop there, not by a long shot. The Cats Family Fun day will host a special Theme Song Station where fans young and old alike will be able to check their knowledge of the famous We Are Geelong lyrics.
And, wait for it, we’ll also have on hand one seriously-fun Footy Inflatable Castle to explore.
And just like their footy heroes on match day, kids will be able to Run through the Banner at the ground.
The Grovedale Football Club will have several of its senior team assisting with the football drills and activities on the day.
A Green Screen Photo Marquee will be set up so kids can have their photo taken alongside their favorite Cats’ players or at the hallowed turf of the MCG.
Kids will also be able to bounce themselves crazy on the Jumping Castle. And they can also try some Face Painting, or play Balloon Twister or throw themselves deep into the Arts and Crafts Centre.
Okay, now the serious stuff. Prizes & giveaways:
