Asthma Foundation Ball a success at Truffleduck

December 11, 2017 BY

The 16th annual Shane O’Brien Memorial Asthma Foundation Ball was hosted by catering and events company Truffleduck over the weekend.

Held at the popular Waterfront Kitchen Café with more than 200 guests in attendance, Truffleduck showcased a variety of food stations with dishes cooked for guests before their eyes, culminating with a mouth-watering donut wall.

Truffleduck general manager Deb Nash said the Geelong business was proud to cater for the event.

“The Shane O’Brien Memorial Asthma Foundation Ball was traditionally a sit-down dinner for 14 years until we were chosen to cater the event last year.

“Following the success of last year’s event, once again we were able to deliver something exciting and different.

“The Waterfront Kitchen café provided the ideal location to create a hawker-style setting for over 200 guests, with individual stalls showcasing cuisines from Japan, India, a seafood extravaganza plus the excitement of a donut wall, which encouraged guests to mix, mingle and interact.”

The Asthma Foundation Ball is held annually in memorial of Shane O’Brien, who tragically died from asthma in October 2001.

The foundation was formed in March 2002 in his memory and has gone on to raise over $425,000 over the last 15 years providing Barwon Health and the Geelong community with much-needed equipment and education around asthma and over respiratory-related diseases.

Along with the many food stations guests were also treated to acoustic music, a photo booth, plus raffles and prizes ensuring that fun was had by all in attendance for a great cause.
